Amaravati: Setting the trend for others to replicate, the TDP-led NDA Government in Andhra Pradesh has signed several MoUs with Flipkart, Rapido and others to achieve women empowerment through digital transformation and networking through several interventions initiated to improve their livelihood. Besides announcing incentives to women to become entrepreneurs, the government announced maternity leave facility to women to conceive any number of children instead of restricting it to two. Through Shakti App, response is promised within seven minutes and stringent action against perpetrators of crime against women.Tie-up was made with 24 organisations to support women empowerment. At a State level International Women’s Day celebrations held at Markapuram in Prakasam district, the government declared that it will create one lakh women entrepreneurs and will provide a 45 per cent subsidy for women in investments.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in a posting on X, said the Government of Andhra Pradesh launched transformative initiatives to empower women spanning entrepreneurship, digital commerce, ensuring safety with Shakti Teams and Shakti App partnering with Flipkart, Rapido and others for livelihoods and implementing gratuity benefits and financial support for Anganwadi and ASHA workers.

MoUs were signed with 24 firms to promote women in business. As per MoU with Rapido, one of the leading ride sharing platforms, will waive onboarding and monthly charges for three months and help women to become financially independent. The State Government handed over 1,000 electric vehicles for women riders across the State of which 760 are e-bikes and 240 are e-autos on the occasion. The Chief Minister later told a large gathering of women at Markapuram that as part of marketing support for their product, the MoUs will help easy access to prospective customers and funding to scale up. Naidu said Talliki Vandanam will be implemented for all irrespective of the number of children. Decision has been taken to transform lakhs of women as entrepreneurs by providing opportunities, self-employment and financial flexibility in SERP, MEPMA and MSME sectors. The State Government has also prepared a roadmap to provide livelihood for women in agriculture-based, manufacturing units, service sector and business houses while an action plan has been released to provide livelihood for 10,000 women during 2025-26 in the MSME sector.

Making NDC as a platform and using the Wow Genie App, over one lakh DWCRA products were sold for a record Rs5.13 crore as part of the "for women, to women and by women" programme.
